Martis Publishing was founded in 2014 by visual artist Yannis Ganas and dramaturge Anna Papafigou. Yannis and Anna, childhood friends and avid readers, came up with the idea to start a publishing house focusing on children’s literature when they became parents.

Since then, the two have plunged deep into reading children’s tales, searching for stories that respect young readers, always keeping in mind that children deserve love, honesty and care.

Martis aspires to offer an eclectic selection of titles that inspire children and trigger their imagination; that’s the idea behind its catalogue, which has introduced several acclaimed and award-winning authors and illustrators to young Greek readers

Since its foundation, Martis is happy to reach children not just through its titles, but by joining them in their classroom.

Anna Papafigou visits schools, kindergartens, libraries and bookshops, offering children the chance to enjoy a close encounter with their favorite heroes, to have fun and express themselves through participation at a collective experience.

So far, more than 2.000 children have enjoyed Alfons’s adventures and discovered a rich universe of dreams and tales via the wonderful stories and illustrations of Martis’s authors and artists.
